Math+More with Edwin O'Shea: How to Rig an Election (or protect against it) Washington's Math Veto - Hamilton vs. Jefferson and Apportionment. These workshops are hands-on and will not assume mathematical knowledge beyond elementary school arithmetic. We will pay special attention to local and state electoral processes when feasible. Everyone is welcome but, please, leave the partisanship at the door. Explore the ways in which mathematics and statistics can play a role in our political process. This series will explore gerrymandering and districting, how our votes count, and how the first presidential veto of George Washington concerned a mathematical battle between Jefferson and Hamilton.
