Operation Stop Scams, Free Fraud Fighting Event, Shredding Event

Join us for free fraud fighting event. Every day residents lose hard earned money to a variety of fraud schemes. To strike back, AARP Virginia and Fairfax County Government's Silver Shield Task Force are bringing together top experts and law enforcement officials to present at a free informational Scam Jam. Presenters will discuss scams targeting Virginians, such as fake solicitor schemes, bogus investment deals, lottery scams, email fraud, grandparent ruse and more. Also available is shredding.
Saturday, April 27th form 9-1 is the presentation. Shredding from 8 until Noon or the truck is full. Registration is required at www.aarp.org/fairfaxscamjam or call 1-877-926-8300. Light refreshments and lunch will be served. Shredding is free but no plastics or electronics.
