Who We Are

The American Cancer Society is the foremost nationwide community dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem.  They provide:

  • Funding for cancer research projects by state
  • Provides up-to-date and accurate information about a specific type of cancer, its risk factors, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, survival, and quality of life issues
  • Advocates beneficial policies, laws, and regulations for patients and families affected by cancer
  • Assists in finding treatment, doctors, and hospitals and what to ask about your treatment
  • Provides a variety of services for cancer patients, i.e., rides to chemotherapy appointment, hair loss products, etc.
