Who We Are

The Administrative Office for the Orange County Department of Social Services offers information about benefit programs and services.  The Department provides a wide variety of governmental assistance, as well as adult and child protective services, to those qualified and in need of services. Provides assistance to Orange County residents in accordance with Federal Programs such as Food Stamps, AFDC (ADC), Cardinal Care Medicaid, Foster Care, Adult Services, and Child Protective Services. Implements the Virginia Independence Program (VIP), the state's new welfare reform law. Please call for more information.
