The Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA) was founded in 2002 to provide support, services and education to individuals, families, and caregivers affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure. The AFA is a resource for families in their time of need with their National Toll-Free Helpline (866-232-8484), a National Memory Screening Program, and with their work with professional caregivers and dementia-care settings to provide them with additional training and continuing education to elevate the level of care they provide on a daily basis.
In addition, the AFA offers a variety of educational materials and events to help arm caregivers with tips and strategies to help facilitate meaningful living for both the caregiver and the individual living with dementia throughout their journey.
