Blind and Low Vision, Assistive Technology

Freedom Scientific offers products available for individuals who are blind or have low vision.  Training and support are available for products.  Seminars also available on web.



Some items are magnifiers, screen magnification software, large print keyboard, JAWS screen reading software, Braille displays, etc.



Offers several types of portable notetakers for persons with visual or learning disabilities. Notetakers are small computers that print in braille or type, or use speech synthesis to read back notes. They can be hooked up to other computers.



Some notetakers have capability for two languages; Czech, French, German, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Slovak, Spanish and Turkish available. Also offers talking thermometers which speak the body temperature, and software to teach braille. Knowledge of computers is not necessary for effective use of these devices. Knowledge of braille is necessary for all units except the Type and Speak.
