Who We Are
The DC Rape Crisis Center's (DCRCC) 24-hour hotline, 202-333-7273, receives thousands of calls annually. Trained volunteer counselors provide immediate support to callers as well as referrals to resources. The hotline is anonymous and calls are confidential. Please note that DCRCC hotline advocates are required by law to report to the appropriate authorities any cases of child sexual abuse, abuse of vulnerable adults and persons who are at risk to themselves or others. If you provide the advocate with identifying information during a hotline call, a mandated report will be filed in these required cases.
The Center's services also include group and individual counseling services for rape and incest survivors and their families and friends; a companion program to accompany survivors to hospitals, courts and police proceedings; low-cost self-defense classes; a growing library; training for professionals working with survivors; and a wide array of community education programs including "Sister Action, Sister Strength (SASS) Clubs, a program for middle or high school girls in DC.
Male Hotline Counselors are available within 1-2 business days to any survivors who would prefer to speak to a male counselor.
