Who We Are
Advocacy for Older Adults addresses the needs of older adults in living in Fairfax. Staff assist with all areas of older adults lives including long term care, protective services, basic human services, recreation, transportation and more.
Advocacy for Women: The office for Women addresses policy work and provides information and referral for women and their families in such areas as legal aspects of divorce, domestic violence, education, employment and participation on advisory boards. The Office for Women works closely with the Commission for Women, an advisory group whose volunteer members are appointed and advised by the Board of Supervisors.
The Commission is an active voice for women in areas such as domestic violence, educational equality and progress in the workplace. The Commission is part of a national network of some 300 state and local Commissions for Women.
Office for Women is committed to removing barriers to women and girls of Fairfax County, so that they are better able to contribute to and benefit from the community.
