Who We Are
Services to Abused Families (SAFE) provide an emergency, temporary stay to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault who are fleeing a violent or abusive situation. There are 13 beds available and priority is given to residents in our service area: the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock. Shelter is for men, women and children. Shelter stays are a maximum of 30-days. Each stay is evaluated in terms of the client’s danger level and available resources.
SAFE also offers emergency services such as a 24-hour crisis hotline, support groups and court accompaniment to victims of domestic violence. Conducts Batterer's Intervention, Violence Prevention, and various children's support groups. Other services available are emergency cell phones, transitional housing, childcare during meetings.
