Who We Are

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are assigned by a juvenile court judge to gather information about an abused or neglected child's history, living situation, and needs. Advocates may interview the child's family, social worker, therapist, teacher, daycare provider, or any other relevant person to submit a written report of their findings to the Court.

The advocate will also share information with the child's attorney, and appear in court to speak for the child's best interests. CASA volunteers must complete approximately 35 hours of pre-service training. Twelve hours of annual in-service training is also required.
