Who We Are

Wise County Department of Social Services is one of 120 local departments of social services in Virginia. The local department of social services provides programs for disabled or elderly adults, families, and children. Services are provided through Adult Services, Adult Protective Services, Information and Referral, Child Protective Services, Foster Care for Children, Adoptive and Foster Home studies, and court-ordered home studies. Provides eligibility determination for Food Stamps (SNAP), Fuel and Cooling Assistance, Cardinal Care Medicaid, State/Local Hospitalization, Auxiliary Grants, and General Relief.
