Commission on Aging

The Mayor's Commission on Aging provides assistance to the Mayor to meet the needs of senior citizens of Virginia Beach.  The members help identify and define the needs of older adults; assist in the review of priorities of services to meet the needs of the aging; assist with public information, legislative and education efforts regarding the needs of older adults.



Members are appointed by the Mayor and serve for three years. Membership application forms are available from the Mayor's office. Meetings are open to the public and are held on the last Wednesday of each month (except in December) from 2:00PM-4:00PM. Call to confirm meeting dates.



Special Projects: from time to time special projects affecting seniors are held in the form of conferences, workshops, etc.
